Terms for using Layered Maps

These terms govern your access to and use of Layered Maps, a web-based tool for creating topographic map projects, locked previews, and export files. Last updated: March 27, 2026.

Operator and scope

Layered Maps is operated by STRICS IT GmbH, Florian-Gmainer-Straße 4, 4240 Freistadt, Austria. If you use the service on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.

Layered Maps currently provides account-based access to a map editor, project storage, preview generation, subscription billing, and ZIP exports containing production files such as SVG and PNG assets.

Accounts

Access to the product requires sign-in through Google via Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping control of your devices and sign-in methods.

Your content

You remain responsible for the project names, geographic selections, settings, previews, exports, and any resulting manufactured products or customer deliverables created through the service.

Plans, quotas, and feature limits

Access to features depends on your current plan and subscription status. The service currently enforces project quotas per billing cycle and may restrict available map styles, preview generation, and export access based on the plan attached to your account.

In the current product setup, the Hobby plan is intended for personal, non-commercial use, while commercial use is offered on higher tiers. Plan details on the site and in the billing flow form part of these terms.

Billing and renewals

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. By purchasing a paid plan, you authorize recurring charges according to the plan, billing interval, taxes, and pricing shown at checkout. Subscription management, payment method updates, and cancellations are handled through the Stripe billing portal unless a separate written agreement applies.

Cancelling a subscription stops future renewal, but it does not automatically delete your account or project data. Existing projects may remain visible in the app even if an active plan is no longer in place, but access to new projects, locked previews, exports, or certain styles may be restricted.

Acceptable use

You may not use Layered Maps in a way that is unlawful, infringes third-party rights, bypasses usage restrictions, interferes with the service, attempts unauthorized access, overloads the infrastructure, or resells access to the product without our prior written approval.

Third-party services and map data

Layered Maps depends on third-party services including Firebase, Stripe, Mapbox, and Vercel. Some map, terrain, imagery, or export-related outputs may be subject to third-party license terms, usage restrictions, or attribution requirements. You are responsible for ensuring your intended use of generated outputs complies with any applicable third-party rules.

Intellectual property

The Layered Maps software, interface, branding, and service design remain the property of STRICS IT GmbH or its licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of the service itself to you.

Availability, suspension, and termination

We may change, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, or product development. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms or misuse the service.

Warranty disclaimer and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Layered Maps is provided on an as-available basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every generated preview or export will be error-free or suitable for a specific manufacturing process. You remain responsible for reviewing outputs before fabrication or commercial use.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded, including for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by Austrian law, except where mandatory consumer protection rules require otherwise. Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@strics.at.
